ABOUT BME
Established
in 1990, BME designs and manufactures mounts that require little
or no alteration to the gun. Located in Intervale, New Hampshire,
BME is operated by John Chernick, a competitive shooter, former
gunsmith, and engineer. John never intended to get into the mount
business.
As a design and manufacturing engineer, he spent many years developing
unique and successful models, techniques, processes and products
for respected companies including Honeywell, RCA, and Digital Equipment
Corporation. The business of designing and manufacturing mounts
evolved out of a hobby. Initial models were made for John's personal
use and consisted of the development of non-invasive mount solutions
for his own guns. He soon found out that his work was admired and
requested by other shooters.
That
was the start of BME. Preliminary products were copies of John's
initial designs. Soon, customers began asking for modifications
and new applications. It became evident that there was a niche
business in custom and low-volume mounts.
